Scenario simulations
Different levels of R&D collaboration
Scenario 1: First Best scenario (a globally cost efficient strategy).
Description: limitation of the radiative forcing to 3.5 W/m2
Model used: TIAM / GEMINI-E3.

Scenario 2: Climate Agreement Limited to the Energy Intensive Industries
Description: Agreement Limited to the Energy Intensive Industries (EEI) with Radiative forcing Target same as in scenario 1. In developed countries (OECD), the carbon tax is applied to all sectors (same as 1). In developing countries (non-OECD) the carbon tax is applied only to EEI (including Electricity), the aim is to penalize not so much household (residential and transport energy) and limit the loss of competitiveness of developed countries.
Model used: TIAM / GEMINI-E3.

Scenario 2b: Climate Agreement Limited to the Electricty generation.
Description: Agreement Limited to the Electricity generation with Target same as in 1. In developed countries, the carbon tax is applied to all sectors (same as 1). In developing countries the carbon tax is applied only to Electricity.
Model used: TIAM / GEMINI-E3.
